Galeria Estação is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming edition of ArtRio 2023, taking place from 13 to 17 September at Marina da Glória. For the thirteenth edition of the show, the gallery will showcase a dialogue between figurative and abstract paintings and sculptures, while also bridging the gap between contemporary and non-erudite historical works, all created by Brazilian artists.
Among these artists, we highlight for the first time in Brazil, the series of gouaches paintings by Santídio Pereira, who is currently taking part in the Siamo Foresta collective exhibtion in Milan, organized by Fondation Cartier. In October this year, Santídio will have his first solo exhibition in Europe at the Xippas Gallery in Paris.
We will also be exhibiting the oil and asphalt paintings on linen by “carioca” artist Germana Monte-Mór, who holds a master's degree in visual poetics from the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo – ECA/USP.
Equally important, the sculptor legacy of G.T.O. (Geraldo Telles de Oliveira), a non-erudite historical artist, will be represented on our booth (D4) through three wooden sculptures produced between the 70s and 80s. It's worth noting that G.T.O. is part of the collective exhibition Ensaios para um Museu das Origens, curated by Izabela Pucu and Paulo Miyada, which will be on show from 9 September to 28 January 2024 at Institute Itaú Cultural and the Tomie Ohtake Institute.
Taking the opportunity of this special occasion, Galeria Estação is pleased to announce the official representation of Higo José, from São Benedito-CE, visual artist with a degree in Visual Arts from Faculdade Paulista de Artes, and Renato Rios, from Brasília-DF, visual artist holding a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the University of Brasília-UnB.
